STONEMASON AND INSTALLER
 
Company: Pacific Stone Limited
Location: Based in Taupo, covering the Waikato and Hawke's Bay Regions
Position: Stonemason, Manual Polisher, and Installer of Stone Benchtops and Countertops
Hourly Rates: NZD $30.00-$40.00 p/h depending on experience
Full Time, Permanent Position - minimum 40 hours p/w plus opportunities for overtime
 
About the Company: Pacific Stone is a leading supplier and fabricator of quality handcrafted surfaces, all made to order from stunning natural and engineered products. They measure, fabricate, and install granite, marble, natural and engineered stone, and porcelain for kitchen benchtops and splashbacks, bathrooms, fire hearths, business reception counters, and a range of commercial spaces. The factory is based in Tauranga, with a branch in Taupo supplying to building companies, kitchen cabinet makers, and discerning home, property, and business owners throughout New Zealand.
 
Due to the popularity of classical stone surfaces, Pacific Stone requires an experienced and skilled stonemason with experience in both polishing and installing stone to join the team in Taupo. 
 
Position Description / Responsibilities:

• Manual polishing and installation of stone benchtops, countertops, and other surfaces.
• Use polishing tools to polish tops, sides, and edges of engineered stone, granite stone, and sintered stone, cut for kitchen benchtops, countertops, and other surfaces.
• Cutting and polishing stone, under mounts, and drainage grooves.
• Demonstrate a high level of precision using diamond tooling.
• Profiling of stone edges, mitering, bullnosing, bevelling, and edging.
• Templating and measuring on-site.
• Loading, transporting, and installing the finished product on-site.
• Using handheld polishing tools to perform any remedial repairs and repair chips and scratches.
• You must be Health and Safety conscious, with an eye for detail and quality workmanship, and a good deal of physical fitness is essential for these roles.

Role Requirements:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience with fabrication, polishing, and installation of stone surfaces and countertops.
• Able to specify and/or provide evidence of your New Zealand work rights.
• Based in Taupo and working on site in the Waikato, Hawkes Bay, and other North Island locations.
